Saturdaymorning around 8 o’clock, as the day begins, I start my journey towards Sibiu, in Romania. Hopefully I wil get to Passau during this first day. Amazingly my new bought GPS sents me via Brussels, Leuven, the A2 all the way to Maastricht in Holland and Aachen in Germany. Time for a first pitstop and of course my morning coffee.

I hope to get to Passau in Germany, near the Austrian border. Somewhere around there very near the Danube I discovered, by google that is, a small but nice campsite.

Already 600 km’s behind the wheels and again a cup of Lavazza, somewhere in the Munich area alongside the motorway.

Bavaria is not what I thought it would be like. Too flat, although the motorways in the Southeastern part of the region are great. Still two hours to travel. The time is now 16:45. My Garmin is fantastic.

It was a bit of a gamble, searching campsites via google, but it is better than I had hoped for. A somewhat older man sits at the receptiondesk: “Ach aus Belgiën.” he welcomes me. I pad a small fee and could pitch up the tent, underneath a lovely tree. The campsite was full with Dutch tourers all with cars and what I like to call travelhuts on wheels.

Tommorrow I will roughly have to travel 700 kilometsers, driving through Austria, Hungary, and crossing the Romanian border. It will be a bit of a gamble, to get to the Romanian border, as I did not take into account that I will cross a timezone. Setting the clock one hour backwards, means also losing one hour. So up to the next campsite, which should be crowded with Dutch tourers, as it’s website is maintaned from Holland.
